SEN Guidelines & Insurance Plans Best Practice documents
The Arizona Statewide Task Force on Preventing Prenatal Exposure To Alcohol and Other Drugs has been developing two documents to address the issue of prenatal exposure. The first is the revision of the SEN Guidelines, originally created in 2008, addressed to medical providers, to create a consistent statewide approach to screening, treatment, and long-term follow-up of mothers with substance use and their newborns. The second document that is an original document that provides the best practice across the Arizona Health Plans when it comes to referrals, treatment, and management of these women and their newborns.
The intention of this webpage was to open these two documents to public comment. Comments were accepted and the documents were finalized. Thank you.
